ShiningRubies Guest – Temilayo Abodunrin (Young Saxophonist)
Our ShiningRubies Guest today is no other than the very talented Temilayo, a young saxophonist from Lagos, Nigeria.
Nine year old Temilayo Princess Abodunrin is originally from Offa in Kwara State, Nigeria. She lives in Lagos with her family and has played the Saxophone since she was six.
Temilayo got attracted to the Saxophone because of the shining body of the instrument and the kind of sound it produces. “Everything about the Saxophone is beautiful and unique”, she said. She also plays the piano.
Temilayo attends Floral School in Lagos. She is in Grade 4. Her favorite subjects in school are Music and Art.
Asides playing the Saxophone and the piano, she also enjoys watching movies, painting and travelling.
Temilayo’s role models are her parents, Pastor Nike Adeyemi, Ariana Stanbury (her music teacher here in the United States), Beejay Sax, Candy Dulfer, Saxgold to mention a few.
She looks forward to collaborating with BeeJay Sax, Candy Dulfer, Tope Alabi, Nathaniel Bassey, Sinach, Johnny Drille and Tim Godfrey.
We asked how Temilayo has been coping with fame, she said “My parents tell me never to allow fame get into my head. They tell me to respect everyone that comes my way regardless of whom they are.”
For an all expense paid trip, she’ld love to visit Canada.
