Make that move

Some people have called it luck, some have called it favor, some said it’s coincidence but I call it diligence at the right place, at the right time. There are so many learning points in this story if we decide to spend time dissecting it, but for me, it’s a tale of diligence, timing and positioning. I deliberately did not use Jumoke’s picture on the cover of this article because a lot of people were already becoming weary of the whole story. Lol! But trust me, we can’t be weary just yet. It’s an amazing tale.
Interestingly, I had drafted this article a while ago; I didn’t just have a very practical and very relatable story to engage my readers with until Olajumoke Orisaguna!

Can we over flog this story? No, we can’t. It is the prayer of every common man, that he sleeps one day in lack and wakes up in plenty. That he sleeps one day in uncertainty and wakes up in to favor in the next. That he sleeps in poverty and wakes up into wealth. That he sleeps in ailment and wakes up in good health. That is the exact tale of Jumoke; the dream of every common man.
The point I will be emphasizing in this whole story is that of “Positioning and Engagement” (being at the right place and keeping busy) . Being where you ought to be, and engaging your hands in positive activities. The major setback a lot of people have today in their lives, health, careers, academics, marriages has to do with where they are located. Ever observed some people who life seem to be generally fair to? It might simply mean they are in the right place. The solution or breakthrough someone needs won’t be realized until they either go somewhere or return to where they are coming from-“Positioning”
We gathered that Jumoke had to leave *Osun state* to *hawk bread* in *Lagos*. It took relocation (Osun to Lagos) and an action/activity (hawking) for this uncommon miracle to occur. Some people are in Nigeria today when they should be in Canada. Some are in Canada today when they should in fact be in Nigeria. Some are in Australia when they should be in Saudi Arabia. Some are in the UK when they should be in the Nigeria or the US. Some are in New York city when they should be in Columbus. Some are in Columbus when they should be in Maryland and in fact some are in Lagos when they should be in Anambra or Ondo.

If “something”(like we always say) has been telling you (lol), you are not in the right place. You might want to seek God’s face and consider a relocation. You can identify this either from a consistent prompting in your spirit, a discomfort in your life, it could be a feeling of emptiness, dissatisfaction, the urge to achieve more, a feeling of restriction, and it could even be visible failure, delay or setback in your life. Don’t hesitate. Prayerfully make a move. It could be the solution to the problems you’ve been facing.

Lastly, never be found idle doing nothing. Jumoke was “found” hawking bread. Blessings don’t locate an idle man. See these Bible verses:
Proverbs 10:4- Idle hands make one poor, but diligent hands bring riches (diligent hands have a way of bringing riches! #copythat)
Proverbs 16:27- Idle hands are the devil’s workshop; idle lips are his mouthpiece
Proverb 12:24-The hand of the diligent will rule, But the slack hand will be put to forced labor.
Acts 9:36 -Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which, translated, means Dorcas. She was full of good works and acts of charity (Read her story).
Engage yourself in as many positive activities as your hands can find to do.

Finally, there is little I can say without making reference to the Scriptures, to successfully utilize every tool or gadget we always refer to the manual written by the manufacturers. For direction and help about your life, pray and always refer to the word of God inspired by God (your maker).
Make that move today you need to make if need be and whatever your hands find to do, do with all your heart. Who knows? You might run into your own “TY Bello”.

And in all of this, let’s not forget that there are many Olajumokes around us. Make a difference in someone’s life today…be the one that makes their dreams come true.
“Once upon a time, there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work.
One day, as he was walking along the shore, he looked down the beach and saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself at the thought of someone who would dance to the day, and so, he walked faster to catch up.
As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, and that what he was doing was not dancing at all. The young man was reaching down to the shore, picking up small objects, and throwing them into the ocean.
He came closer still and called out “Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?”
The young man paused, looked up, and replied “Throwing starfish into the ocean.”
“I must ask, then, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?” asked the somewhat startled wise man.
To this, the young man replied, “The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them in, they’ll die.”
Upon hearing this, the wise man commented, “But, young man, do you not realize that there are miles and miles of beach and there are starfish all along every mile? You can’t possibly make a difference!”
At this, the young man bent down, picked up yet another starfish, and threw it into the ocean. As it met the water, he said,
“It made a difference for that one.”

Exactly! Thanks for adding that point Funke. I deliberately stayed clear of it as it is the sole message in one of our upcoming articles 🙂 thanks all the same 🙂
